Sandro Sehic

Sandro Sehic is an accomplished educator and researcher with a strong commitment to education and a diverse range of experiences. He currently works as a Distance Social Studies Teacher at OHM BOCES in Utica, NY, where he has been teaching dual-credit psychology and U.S. History courses to high school seniors since September 2017. He utilizes video-conferencing technology to provide an engaging learning experience for his students, enabling them to earn college credits for the psychology course.

Sandro’s educational journey includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Education (PhD) in Curriculum and Teaching from Northcentral University, where he conducted research on college-level second language courses and creative thinking skills. After he got his PhD, he conducted research on the effects of English language learning on creative thinking skills. His research has been published in various peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Educational and Developmental Psychology, the International Journal of Contemporary Education, and the Journal of Education and Learning.

In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Sandro has held various positions in educational institutions, including being an Adjunct ELL Instructor and Adjunct Instructor of Sociology at Mohawk Valley Community College, and an Adjunct Instructor of Education at Utica College (also known as Utica University). He has a strong background in quantitative and mixed methods research, allowing him to contribute to the field of education with evidence-based insights.

Sandro’s dedication to education extends beyond the classroom. He is a co-founder and Vice President of the Bosnian-American Community Association (BACA), a non-profit organization aimed at preserving Bosnian heritage and providing community services in the Utica, NY area. His passion for education, research, and community involvement is evident in his extensive list of accomplishments, from his various teaching roles to his numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and magazines.
